Global market leader Germany
With a market share of just over 10 percent, Germany was the global market leader in business travel and attendance at business events before the start of the Corona pandemic, as well as Europe's No. 1 host of international association events, according to analyses provided by the IPK World Travel Monitor and the ICCA Statistics Report. In 2019, more than one in ten of the more than 420 million attendees at business events came from abroad, according to the Meeting & Event Barometer survey.
Key cornerstones for this success are the economic and scientific competencies in key industries as well as Germany's excellent image as a travel and business destination. As the latest survey conducted by IPK International on behalf of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) shows, Germany enjoys the highest level of confidence as a travel destination in times of the Corona pandemic in an international comparison. In the Anholt-Ipsos Nation Brands Index, Germany has also ranked first for the best image worldwide for several years.
