One of the World's Most Modern Exhibition Grounds

Messe München, based in southern Germany in beautiful Bavaria, has one of the world’s most modern exhibition grounds. With its four locations in Riem, the ICM – International Congress Center Messe München, the MOC Event Center Messe München and the CCN– Conference Center North Messe München, it can fulfill all of its customers’ requirements individually.

IFAT Munich - Leading Trade Fair for Environmental Technologies

The 2022 trade fair year offers many opportunities to bring people together at the Messe München locations. It is shaped by an upswing and economic recovery after two outlier years due to the global pandemic. 2022 is a great event year for Messe München with around 40 of its own events in Germany and abroad. The trade fair company is among the top three in Germany in terms of revenue. The most recent trade fair was IFAT Munich 2022, which was once again a key driver for the sustainable transformation of industries and climate-resilient communities. All 18 halls were fully booked for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. With 2,984 exhibitors from 59 countries and around 119,000 visitors from 155 countries, the trade fair approached its pre-pandemic level, reflecting the great potential environmental technologies and confirming its position as the world’s leading platform for water, sewage, waste, and raw materials management.

The Smarter E Europe - Europe’s Largest Platform for the Energy Industry

Messe München is also providing a stage in the guest event field for future technologies. An intelligent, sustainable, and integrated energy mix consisting entirely of renewables available 24/7, all year round: Intersolar Europe shares this vision for a clean and secure energy future with the three other trade fairs ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe. These events took place simultaneously in Munich as part of “The smarter E Europe”, Europe’s largest platform for the energy industry. All in all, 1,356 exhibitors from 46 countries presented their products and innovations. There were over 65,000 visitors from 149 countries – 33 percent more than before the coronavirus pandemic at the last regular event in 2019.

Our Currently Most Successful Formats: IAA, IFAT, and Bauma

As the first international event in one and a half years since March 2020, IAA MOBILITY was held last September. It was a huge success: Around 400,000 visitors from 95 countries attended the in-person event which was enhanced by digital elements and made it the world’s largest mobility event.

Alongside IFAT, which just finished successfully, the highlight is still to come in the second half of 2022: bauma 2022, as the world’s leading trade fair for construction, building materials, and mining machinery industry, that takes place from the 24th to the 30th of October. Feedback from customers shows that bauma is firmly fixed in their calendars. In personal conversations we hear the exhibitors’ and visitors’ anticipation to having face-to-face discussions and, of course, to experiencing the special atmosphere that bauma offers.

Corporate Events

Beyond that, Messe München hosts major corporate events, such as for Huawei, Fujitsu, Telekom, or google, as well as medical congresses, which kicked off in April with Euromedlab, the Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. This will be followed by FOBI 2022 (the Advanced Training Week for Practical Dermatology & Venereology) in July and the DGGG Congress (the Congress of the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics) in October.

Munich as a Business and Science Location

The locations of Messe München (Trade Fair Center Munich, ICM – International Congress Center Messe München, the MOC – Event Center Messe München and the CCN – Conference Center North Messe München) don’t just offer a stage for fascinating and exciting events. They also offer the perfect setting at a top science hub offering ideal infrastructure connections, with an airport nearby, as well as culture and the Bavarian lifestyle. Nowhere else in Germany are so many companies listed in Germany’s most important share index as in Munich. Currently, there are seven of them, including BMW, Allianz, and Siemens, which makes the Bavarian capital one of the top business locations – the ideal setting for your event.

Munich – both the city and the region – has a reputation in Germany and worldwide for excellence in research, technology, and innovation.  The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), two of the finest universities in Germany are based here.  Furthermore, around 270 biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms are based in the Greater Munich area.

Excellent Leisure Facilities

The benefits of the location also include the excellent leisure facilities that guests can discover and enjoy after an event. The unique blend of tradition, innovation, and Bavarian congeniality is known and appreciated worldwide. No other city brings together so many people from different backgrounds, young and old, for business or for leisure, like the city on the Isar. More than 1,000 beer gardens and taverns offer the opportunity to expand your network after an event and enjoy more in-depth discussions – over a beer and a hearty snack.

The team from Messe München is looking forward to welcoming American visitors to Munich! If you also want to hold your events in Munich, please feel free to contact the Sales Team.
