Meetings Made in Germany at IMEX Frankfurt 2025

09.07.2025

Looking back at this year's IMEX in Frankfurt, the GCB German Convention Bureau had an eventful couple of days, not only during the three busy IMEX days in Frankfurt, but also in the days before and after the show. Here are some glimpses of our activities with our Hosted Buyers.

The journey began at Frankfurt International Airport, where our Regional Manager Europe, Akram Ouzid, welcomed Jochen Braxmeier, Key Account Manager MICE at Dorint Hotels & Resorts, to greet the first group of Hosted Buyers arriving for their stay with the Dorint team in Frankfurt.

The program’s highlights included visits to all Dorint properties in Bad Vilbel, Cologne, Oberursel, Frankfurt-Sulzbach, and Wiesbaden, as well as to KoelnCongress ConFex & Flora and the RheinMain CongressCenter and Kurhaus in Wiesbaden.

At the same time, Christina Grewe, Head of Guest Events, and Nina Hoffmann, Sales Coordinator at Messe Essen GmbH, warmly welcomed several European Hosted Buyers to their vibrant destination – impressing guests and even exceeding expectations. One enthusiastic participant put it perfectly: "Essen must be one of the most underestimated and unexpectedly beautiful cities in Germany!"

Program highlights included an in-depth site inspection of Messe Essen’s venues, a guided visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zeche Zollverein, tours of the charming Margarethenhöhe, the historic Villa Hügel, and the renowned Museum Folkwang. The experience was topped off with a scenic cruise on Lake Baldeney followed by a delightful dinner at Jagdhaus Schellenberg.

After spending a few inspiring days exploring various German destinations, it was time to turn the spotlight on IMEX Frankfurt 2025.

Our GCB team proudly hosted 90 Hosted Buyers from three continents – Europe, China, and North America. At the Business Boulevard, the GCB offered an engaging and interactive platform to present Germany as a premier meeting destination, welcoming around 14 Hosted Buyer groups throughout the event.

To conclude a successful IMEX Frankfurt 2025, the GCB – in collaboration with the Leipzig Convention Network team – invited several European Hosted Buyers on a scenic ICE train journey to explore the vibrant city of Leipzig.

The program offered a dynamic mix of venues and experiences, with highlights including the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo, the Porsche Experience Center Leipzig, and leading hotels such as The Westin, Radisson Blu, and Marriott. Guests also had the chance to visit Leipzig Zoo, enjoy a stop at the legendary Auerbachs Keller, and experience the impressive Congress Center Leipzig.

All in all, within just 10 days, the GCB team – together with its dedicated partners Dorint Hotels & Resorts, Messe Essen GmbH, and the Leipzig Convention Network – successfully showcased a diverse range of German destinations to a broad group of Hosted Buyers.

We look forward to welcoming them and their delegates back to Germany in the near future. See you at IMEX Frankfurt 2026!
