Meet & Stay at Maritim Hotels Germany- An Interview with Hotel Mascots Bert & Berta
GCB: Can you please tell us a bit about the Maritim Hotels and what they offer US meeting planners and delegates?
Bert: … Ladies first you take this one Berta.
Berta: Thanks Bert. Maritim is Germany’s largest family-owned hotel chain and has 34 properties throughout Germany -- many based right in the heart of the country’s most exciting cites for meetings and conferences. We offer meetings delegates and planners large modern guest rooms at a good value, over 753,000 square feet of total meetings space across our properties for groups of 3 to 4,500, the technology you want and expect, and legendary breakfast buffets with an emphasis on farm-to-table. We can even help with off-site catering and event management at cool locations like the Eisbach Film Studio near Munich, or the Oddeseum -- Germany’s first science adventure museum -- in Cologne.
GCB: Berlin is a hot spot for meetings, do you have any properties in Berlin?
Berta: I love Berlin Bert, please let me take this one! Yes we have two properties in Berlin. One is the largest conference hotel in downtown Berlin- Maritim Hotel Berlin - and the other is the third largest conference hotel in Downtown Berlin-the Maritim proArte.
GCB: Are US travelers interested in staying at the Maritim?
Bert: You bet, in fact our US room bookings have increased by 17% so far in 2016 as more American travelers and planners get to know us. Visitors find they can depend on all the comforts of home at a Maritim but also enjoy an authentic, local German lodging and meeting experience as well.
GCB: Can US planners work with someone from Maritim right in the US to explore and plan meetings in Germany?
Bert: Absolutely. We have three top pros standing by to help: Rosita Rios in the New York City/NJ area, Mercedes Blanco in Miami, and Annemarie Heidbuechel in the Windy City of Chicago – all who lead our meetings sales efforts in the US. Each has long and storied careers in hotel sales and meetings so they really know the ropes … and did I mention they are lovely to work with??
GCB: Thanks for speaking with us today Bert and Berta!
Bert & Berta: You’re Welcome, Our Pleasure!
