Intelligent webcast at the European Cancer Congress ECC by meta-fusion
Following an exciting selection process involving several bidders, the European CanCer Organisation (ECCO) medical association selected specialists meta-fusion from Cologne, Germany, to record and edit as webcasts presentations held at the European Cancer Congress (ECC); 5 days of over 800 presentations across 15 rooms. In taking this step, the largest European cancer association is treading new paths in the sustainable use of its congress content.
Crucial to winning the contract, according to the project managers, was the rapid editing of the webcasts – featuring jump labels and slide contents that could be browsed – which was completed in less than an hour, as well as their simultaneous publication on various websites.
Further arguments in favour of meta-fusion included its simple management via their browser-based webcast manager, the user-friendly media library – already available during the ongoing congress to participants as a working tool offering various intelligent search and filter functions – as well as the additional option open to the event organiser to spontaneously broadcast presentations live, for example all press conferences during the conference.
ECCO, which previously offered webcasts of its congresses from other service providers, is now turning to pioneering 'Made in Germany' service and technology, building on maximum service for all participants locally and worldwide. The flexible and simple distribution of live and on-demand webcasts also offers better marketing opportunities for congress content.
This year, the biennial ECC is taking place between 25 and 29 September on the grounds of the exhibition hall in the Austrian capital Vienna. In 2013, over 18 thousand participants visited the ECC in Amsterdam.
