Germany Touches Down in Las Vegas at IMEX America 2015
Germany brought a touch of Europe to the Vegas desert last month when it hit the strip for IMEX America 2015. Again hosting many individual and group appointments and featuring 29 organizations, Germany and the GCB rolled out the best that German meetings have offer -- from well known & up-and-coming destinations and deep industries expertise that can be tied into programs… to top-notch services, hotels & venues and excellent budget value with the Dollar continuing to be strong.
Always looking ahead to what’s next on the meetings horizon, the GCB presented to an overflowing crowd in the Research Hub of the Inspiration Center on what meetings could look and feel like in the not too distant future. The seminar was built around the “Future Meeting Space” research project that the GCB is undertaking with the European Association of Event Centers (EVVC) and the renowned Fraunhofer Institute. Fog projectors, meeting spaces on planes and WiFi balloons for remote event locations were just a few of the innovations discussed that peaked the interest and imaginations of attendees and will published in an "innovation catalogue" in December. More details can be found on the GCB website.
The GCB was also invited to participate in a sustainability panel held by Meetings Focus Magazine at the show. The panelists Robin Lokerman from the MCI Group and Laura d’Elsa from the GCB discussed international green meeting practices and how they could implemented by American meeting planners. You can check out the session videotaped here.
Finally Hamburg and its unique maritime, funky vibe were celebrated at the German Pavilion during the Euro Party with St. Pauli beer and airbrushed Hamburg tattoos.
