"Alongside the Germany stand, the GCB seminar days are our showcase at IMEX. We are happy to have recruited top-notch speakers again for this year's workshops," says GCB Managing Director Lutz P. Vogt.
On Tuesday, 26 May, from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m. Frank Kowalski will talk about the "2009 World Athletics Championships - risks and opportunities of organising a mega-event for an umbrella association”. As a board member of the German Athletics Association, Frank Kowalski is responsible for organisational structure, promotion and ticketing, marketing and sponsoring as well as side events at the 2009 World Athletics Championships. "With our wide variety of marketing and promotion activities we pave the way to making athletics one of the winners of this year's competition between different types of sports in these difficult economic times," says the speaker.
On the second day of IMEX, 27 May, Colja Dams will focus on "Trends in events: the impact of current trends on live marketing" from 4.00 to 5.00 p.m. In addition to general social trends and their impact on corporate communication the speaker will explain their effect on the event industry and show specific solutions with many examples. Petra Kimmig explains what methods she uses to comply with all codex regulations while implementing an optimum procurement strategy. The event expert points out the benefits of such an elaborate procedure and will familiarise attendees with tried and tested methods. "Workshop attendees will benefit from these tools, which have been optimised and practice-tested on the market for years, and can easily include them in their event planning,” says the speaker.
"Active travel cost management – improving transparency and security" is the title of a seminar by Michael Fürer on Thursday, 28 May, from 3.00 to 4.00 p.m. "Most companies cannot really calculate travel costs - they are frequently much too intransparent," the speaker highlights the problem addressed by the seminar. Especially smaller companies that have no travel cost management yet, will get valuable advice in this workshop: First one must gain more insight into travel costs in order to improve business travel budget planning and possibly negotiate discounts with travel providers.
