GCB German Convention Bureau launches Meeting Planners' Guide

Frankfurt / Main, 18th November 2010. The GCB German Convention Bureau today announced the launch of a 36 page guide aimed at helping meeting professionals across the globe. The guide, written by an industry professional, is packed full of useful information designed to get organisers thinking about how to improve every area of their event planning, implementation and delivery.

The guide is available in both hard copy and PDF download from the GCB website www.gcb.de/ENG/about_us/brochures.htm.

Matthias Schultze, Managing Director of the GCB explained: "We felt there was a need for a booklet which provided practical tips to organisers on all aspects of meeting and event planning. The brochure covers a wide range of topics, including traditional areas such as goal-setting, organising, project planning and negotiation, but also new subjects, such as meetings planning as a discipline, CSR and the use of mobile technology."

The brochure also deals with questions about running incentive schemes, and highlights issues such as risk management and health and safety, event marketing, and topics such as communicating to the different generations now in the workplace.

The guide has been written by Richard John. He is a well-known consultant, trainer and writer on all aspects of the meetings and events industry. He commented: "It's great when organisations like GCB demonstrate their commitment to the international events market by commissioning a brochure like this. They are certainly one of the most forward-thinking convention bureau in the world today." He added: "But then they do have a fantastic country to promote!"

Matthias Schultze of GCB said: "We welcome feedback on the guide, and hope to be able to update it frequently, recognising the speed with which the meetings industry is moving. The guide will also provide a wealth of useful links to other resources which will prove valuable to organisers."
