Certified Conference Hotels
PreambleContributing their core skills in the field of event management, Verband Deutsches Reisemanagement e.V. (VDR) (German Travel Management Association), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Verbandsmanagement e.V. (DGVM) (German Association Management Society), and the German Convention Bureau e.V. (GCB) have joined forces to promote a professional collaboration between industry and the hospitality sector and to set standards for the meeting industry.
For this purpose they have developed the Conference Hotel Association Criteria in a dialogue with Hotelverband Deutschland (IHA) (German Hotel Association), which are approved by all four associations as the hallmarks of a professional conference hotel.
The following 7 mandatory requirements, to which all criteria are thematically assigned, are the essential hallmarks of a professional conference hotel:
- A professional conference hotel has its own professional conference area.
- A professional conference hotel offers standardised information material in print and digital form.
- A professional conference hotel uses a standardised proposal procedure.
- A professional conference hotel offers professional, meeting-specific F&B services and corresponding F&B outlets.
- A professional conference hotel provides professional event support.
- A professional conference hotel uses a specified billing process and billing method.
- A professional conference hotel's facilities and services meet business travel standards.
