The darmstadtium is a model of energy efficiency

The "darmstadtium" is a true all-rounder. The new congress and event centre in Darmstadt can be transformed virtually over night from a state-of-the-art conference venue into a con-cert arena flooded with light and sound. Yet the darmstadtium is also a premier player in terms of energy efficiency. The building's own woodchip power plant provides heating and hot water and is fuelled exclusively with wood from local forests (Odenwald and Spessart).
