  • Pressehaus Stuttgart Druck GmbH (Press House)
    At its Stuttgart production plant the Press House deals with orders from customers all over Germany. Its forte is the production of newspapers and similar publications. From the preliminary media stage through 4-colour printing right up to dispatch, the company provides the full range of service and production facilities using the latest in technology.
  • Baden-Württemberg State Mints
    The two State Mints in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart are run by the state of Baden-Württemberg and are Germany’s largest coinage producers. 38% of the coinage for circulation and 40% of collector coins are struck here. The history and development of Baden-Württemberg’s mints and the various stages of coin production are illustrated.
  • Stuttgart Stock Exchange
    For financial service providers Stuttgart is a highly interesting market which ranks after Frankfurt among Europe’s leading centres of finance. One of the state capital’s main features is its dynamic and innovative Stock Exchange, which in 2005 celebrated one of the most successful years in its history and was able to consolidate its position of second place among Germany’s stock exchanges.
  • Ludwigsburg Film Academy
    Founded in 1991, Ludwigsburg Film Academy has within a very short time developed into an internationally acclaimed spawning ground for up-and-coming filmmakers. They are trained predominantly by experts with plenty of practical experience. Famous directors, producers and trick specialists go in and out here – especially since Roland Emmerich produced his blockbusters “Independence Day” and “Godzilla” with a team from the Film Academy.
  • Landeskriminalamt Baden-Württemberg (Criminal Investigation Bureau)
    The main task of the LKA BW is initially to combat politically motivated crime, nuclear crime and crimes involving weapons of war. In cases of major significance the LKA also investigates drug trafficking, organised crime, money laundering and corporate offences.
  • Behind the Scenes at the Wilhelma
    Germany’s unique zoological and botanical gardens are set in a historical park. The Wilhelma is one of the most frequently visited institutions of its kind. Guided theme tours before and behind the scenes give insights into what the running of such an enterprise involves.
  • Ludwigsburg Porcelain Manufactory
    On 5th April 1758 Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg issued a decree to set up a “Porcelaine Fabrique” in Ludwigsburg, which today is one of the most important in Europe. The porcelain factory is inside the royal palace of Ludwigsburg itself and offers guided tours on its history, the manufacture of the whiteware and a walk round the painting section.
  • Sektkellerei Kessler Esslingen (Champagne Producers)
    Germany’s oldest champagne producers were established in Esslingen in 1826. In those days their founder, Georg Christian von Kessler, created a completely new commodity: champagne made from local grapes for the German market. A visit to the cellars demonstrates how the wine gets its bubbles.
  • Ritter Sport Waldenbuch
    Ritter has been producing chocolate since 1912 and its characteristic square-shaped bars were introduced in 1932. Here, on a voyage of discovery involving all five senses - seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and feeling - curious chocoholics can find out all they ever wanted to know about the delectable chocolate squares.
  • Mercedes-Benz Motor Company, Untertürkheim
    In 1883 Gottlieb Daimler was granted a patent for the small, light, one-cylinder, 4-stroke engine with glow-tube ignition which he had developed jointly with Maybach. In 1890 he founded the Daimler Motor Company. The Motorenwerk Untertürkheim gives an insight into the diversity of present-day motors.
  • Mercedes-Benz Factory, Sindelfingen
    Founded in 1915 by the Daimler Motor Company, the Sindelfingen factory is today the main Daimler production site for Mercedes-Benz vehicles of the types C, E, CLS, S and CL. Group tours can be arranged if booked well in advance.
  • Gottlieb Daimler Stadium
    This was the venue for matches of the 1974 World Football Championships, the 1988 European Football Championships and the 2006 World Football Championships. For many years now it has also been the home of VfB Stuttgart football club. Apart from football it is especially popular for athletics meetings, including both international and national events, the 1986 European Championships and the 1993 World Championships. A look “behind the grandstands” gives an insight into the logistics involved in hosting major events.
  • Stuttgart Airport
    Stuttgart Airport is the hub of the Stuttgart region transportation network. It is characterised by the innovative architecture of its terminals, short distances and the diversity of its restaurants and shops. Guided tours give insights into those areas which are of central importance to the smooth running and security of the airport.
