Leipzig – Charming City of Culture and Sport

Leipzig, with 500,000 inhabitants, is one of Europe’s fastest growing cities featuring a highly efficient telecommunications and traffic infrastructure. Leipzig’s traditions are marked by music, arts, literature, architecture, history, sport and commerce. Trade fairs and shows have been held in Leipzig for more than 800 years. Since German re-unification Leipzig has emerged as a prominent media, business, education, scientific and financial centre. It also abounds in unusual and exciting locations for MICE events such as the old and the new City Halls, the medieval vaults of the Moritzbastei fortress or the halls of the historic Bayerischer Bahnhof railway station.

Leipzig has 64 hotels and ca. 6,000 rooms with 10,000 beds. Leipzig is renowned for its museums and monuments, for its unique visitor attractions and for its renovated shopping arcades and art galleries. Famous persons such as Bach, Goethe, Schiller, Lessing, Leibniz, Wagner and Schumann lived, worked and were inspired here.

Enjoy: a refreshing coffee and cake at ‘Zum Arabischen Coffee Baum’ one of Europe’s oldest cafés dating back to 1718, exclusive art and culture at the Gewandhaus and Leipzig Opera, an uplifting choral performance by the Thomaner Choir in the Church of St. Thomas, a banquet in the Faustian ‘Auerbach Cellar’ or a nightlife dine-around in the colourful Barfussgaesschen.

The Westin Leipzig is the largest hotel in Leipzig with 447 rooms and 22 suites. It is also the biggest conference hotel in central Germany with a total of 32 conference rooms.
