Berlin is many cities!
Berlin has an area as large as Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt am Main. Berlin is a city composed of varied districts and quarters – possessing their own individuality and unique charm. Berlin’s 12 city quarters are like little cities in themselves, each with its own special character and local attractions, e.g. Charlottenburg, Prenzlauer Berg, Köpenick, Wannsee and Spandau. Central Berlin (Mitte) offers an innumerable list of sights and attractions, e.g. the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz, Reichstag (German Federal Parliament), Museum Island, Gendarmenmarkt, Alexanderplatz and Nikolai Quarter to mention only a few.

Berlin – capital city and economic centre
Berlin is the seat of the German Federal Government, of associations, embassies, federations and countless lobbyists – a city where decisions are truly made. Politics and diplomacy give Berlin its international flair. Dynamic economic and service sectors include biotechnology, transport, medical, environmental, information and communications technologies. Innovative companies also benefit from close proximity to Berlin’s numerous scientific institutions and research institutes.

Trade fair and congress city
Berlin is a major international trade fair and congress city. It is a gateway between eastern and western Europe and a growing venue for high-ranking medical, federation and economic congresses, a platform for communications and knowledge transfer. It is, therefore, no surprise that Berlin is the largest meetings and congress location in Germany and in the ranking of international association congresses has been able to improve its overall ranking from 6th to 4th place worldwide (according to ICCA statistics).

The ICC International Congress Center Berlin
The ICC International Congress Center Berlin opened on the 2nd of April 1979. It is managed by the Messe Berlin GmbH. It is one of the largest, most modern and most successful congress centres in the world. Over 500 national and international congresses are held there annually with 250,000 participants together with 70 large entertainment events with a total of 200,000 visitors – an average of 1.5 events with 1,100 participants daily.

With its 80 halls and rooms (catering for 5 up to 9,100 persons), its multifunctional appointments and fittings, its modern technical equipment and its comprehensive range of services the ICC is geared up for conferences and entertainment events of all sizes and descriptions (also with immediate access to the exhibition centre’s trade fair halls). The ICC’s architectural and technical layouts also allow for events, exhibitions accompanying conferences and corporate presentations to run parallel to each other.
