Hannover – Congress & Trade Fair City

Hannover, state capital of Lower Saxony, with 522,453 inhabitants, is one of Germany’s leading convention and trade fair cities acquiring special international renown as host of EXPO 2000. Hannover also hosts CeBIT, the largest computer and telecommunications trade fair in the world and the Hanover Trade Fair, the largest industrial trade fair of its kind anywhere. Hannover has ca. 7,500 hotel rooms and 15,000 B+B. Another 310 hotels are also available in the surrounding region.

Hannover’s long and diverse history lives on in an exemplary number of visitor sights linked together by a ‘Red Thread’ which runs along the city’s pavements – an architectural link between the modern and the old city centre areas. Hannover is a city very much alive with music and culture. Its citizens love to invite people from far and near to join them in their many celebrations - whether at the Swinging Hannover Jazz Festival, the Maschseefest or Hannover’s much acclaimed and colourful Christmas markets.

The Hannover International Fireworks Competition in the Royal Gardens at Herrenhausen is not only a dramatic but a musical highlight of every Hannover year.

Hamburg – Gateway to the World

Hamburg is situated on the River Elbe, some 100km from the North Sea and 70km from the Baltic Sea. Hamburg has 250 hotels with 16,000 rooms and 30,000 beds. Hamburg is Germany’s largest port and a major centre for trade, industry, commerce and culture. It is Germany’s second largest city with a current population of 1.6 million.

Hamburg is characterized by its historic fish market and broad promenades, its large port and proud merchant houses, its shopping malls and pedestrian precincts, its international musicals and St. Pauli district, its canals and large brick warehouses. Its parks and woods also make it one of the greenest cities in Germany.

Hamburg port is the second largest container port in Europe, the Speicherstadt is the largest historic dockland and warehouse quarter worldwide and the Hafencity (Port City) the largest urban construction site in Europe. The Alster is a much loved river in the very heart of the city, while Blankenese is a beautiful villa quarter. St. Michael’s church is the Hamburg’s civic icon and symbol.

Congress City Hamburg

The Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) is the venue in Hamburg for large congresses and events. Connected to the Radisson SAS Hotel it forms a symbiosis of meeting rooms and overnight accommodation. The CCH has a total of 19 halls with space for up to 10,000 guests in total. Some 20 smaller rooms are also available. Room capacities vary from 30 to 3,000 persons.

Should not enough rooms be available here then the Elysée, Marriott and SIDE Hotels are only a stone’s throw away. The Elysée is currently building a new conference centre. When complete, it will be the largest hotel conference centre in Hamburg (www.elysee-hamburg.de) with space for up to 1,000 guests in its largest room.

Hamburg’s hotel landscape has something for all tastes: world-renowned Kempinski Hotel Atlantic – with some Hamburg’s most beautiful meeting rooms located in the hotel’s inner courtyard - or in the Hotel Louis C. Jacob on the banks of the River Elbe.
