Dresden: new international congress centre

After a construction period of three years, Dresden's new International Congress Centre opened its gates on 26 May 2004 after having come through its baptism of fire a few days before with the annual Dresden Sports Gala.
Its extraordinary capacities include a large convention centre (auditorium for up to 4,150 delegates, five congress halls (340 to 615 people), six conference rooms (100 to 270 people), nine function rooms (10 to 90 people), a 5,500-sqm foyer, meeting offices, business centre. The adjacent Maritim Congress Hotel in the historical Erlweinspeicher will start operating in the late autumn of 2005. It will feature 328 rooms and suites and a 650-seat restaurant.
