Stuttgart – always in season
Stuttgart, with a population of 590,000, 155 hotels, 9,950 rooms and 14,420 beds is probably one of the most beautiful urban settings in Europe. It is surrounded by a wonderful panorama of rolling green hills, verdant forests and picturesque vineyards. Interesting sights in Stuttgart include two city palaces, the Staatsgalerie art gallery and the unique Wilhelma zoo and botanical gardens. Baden-Wuerttemberg’s state capital is also a leading live music and musicals venue.
Stuttgart is a pulsating metropole with a first-class art and culture scene, attractive shopping, dining, freetime and sporting activities. It is also one of the most dynamic economic centres in Germany with resident firms such as DaimlerChrysler, Porsche, Bosch, Siemens, AlcatelSEL, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Stihl, Zueblin, Neoplan, Maerklin, Octanorm, Hugo Boss, Ritter Sport, Trumpf, Duerr, more than 400 publishing houses, SWR, the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Bank, the Stuttgart Stock Exchange, Stuttgart University, the German Centre for Air and Space Travel, the Fraunhofer Institute and the Max-Planck Societies.
Congress organisers also appreciate Stuttgart for its high quality and modern congress and conference facilities. More than 200 conference centres and hotels along with unusual and special locations are available in Stuttgart and its surrounding region.
And Stuttgarters certainly know how to enjoy themselves! The Cannstatter Volksfest, the Stuttgart Beer Festival, the charming Wine Village and the Stuttgart Christmas market are world-renowned and very much loved.
Gottlieb Daimler Stadium Stuttgart
The Gottlieb-Daimler Stadium (capacity 2006: 54.500 seats) presents groups an opportunity to take a look behind the scenes. The guided tour lasts ca. 60 – 90 minutes. Tours are dependent upon German First Division football match schedules. A stadium tour may also be ideally combined with a tour of the Mercedes-Benz Museum nearby.
New Mercedes-Benz Museum
The beginnings of auto mobility, the history of the motor car and its future prospects and perspectives are the core themes of the new Mercedes-Benz Museum which opens its doors in May 2006. All epochs and milestones of the Mercedes-Benz brand are presented along with the company’s eventful history. The museum building is in itself a stunning piece of architecture and will form the focal point of the new Mercedes-Benz World.
Gottlieb-Daimler Stadium Business Center
In addition to modern meetings infrastructure the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadium Business Center offers meetings and event planners the exciting ambience of a large football arena. It can cater for small meetings and for large-scale events (up to 2,000 persons) and offers a flexible variety of rooming combinations.
The Golden Tulip 3-4* Maxi Sporthotel in the VfB-Event-Center at the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadium is set for completion in plenty of time for the FIFA World Cup 2006™. It will have a total of 174 bedrooms.
Foundation stone laid for the new ICS – International Congress Centre Stuttgart
The foundation stone for Germany’s largest building site - the new ICS – International Congress Centre Stuttgart and the new Stuttgart Trade Fair grounds - was laid on 15th June 2005. Construction is due to be completed by mid-2007. The complex will include 100,000 m² of exhibition hall space along with a state-of-the-art conference centre featuring a congress and exhibitions hall (5,000 m²) suitable for up to 4,900 persons, two large conference rooms for up to 2,700 persons along with breakout capacity for up to 1,700 persons.
FIFA WM 2006TM celebrations
You don’t need to possess a stadium ticket to enjoy the FIFA World Cup 2006TM celebrations in Stuttgart. The Stuttgart Festival of Nations will last for the duration of the event. Football parties, live bands and stadium atmosphere will take over the Stuttgart Schlossplatz with big screen live transmissions of all games for fans and friends alike.

Kaiserslautern - the Palatinate at its best
Kaiserslautern, with a population of 105,831, owes its name to the Hohenstaufen Emperor (Kaiser) Barbarossa who had an imperial palace built at Lautern 850 years ago. Kaiserslautern is a lively student town and the football capital of southwest Germany. It is also the cultural heart of the Palatinate – one of Germany’s most prominent wine-growing regions, adjoining the Palatinate Forest biosphere reserve, Germany's largest contiguous area of forest.
Unusual event locations in Kaiserslautern include among others the Renaissance Casimir Palace with its underground tunnels and vaulted cellars and the St. Martinsplatz with the 14th century St. Martin's church and gateway to the old city quarter with its many cosy bars, bistros and restaurants. The city of Kaiserslautern, in a special initiative featuring local wine experts and dignitaries, will be promoting the FIFA World Cup 2006™ with five top-quality wines bearing the label DC Pfalz (Districtus Controllatus Pfalz).Hotels in and around Kaiserslautern
