This 300-sqm restaurant is ideal for events for 80 to 200 people. Your guests can enjoy spectacular views of the Rhine. The semicircular glazed building was formerly used strategically as a bastion and observation platform for defence purposes. And the tower betrays its historical role by the way it looms imposingly over the Rhine.
Bastei has already served as a restaurant – formerly known as Caponniere – since 1924 and was long known as the "Most Elegant Restaurant of the Rhineland“. After its destruction in World War II the building was reconstructed and re-erected by architect Wilhelm Riphan and is available today for many different kinds of events.
You can book Bastei with its long tradition through Gürzenich Catering and Party Service or KölnKongress. Despite the historical setting, the restaurant features state-of-the-art technical facilities. By request, the booking service will include event organisation and execution, food and service, and the organisation of a social programme.
