Meetings Newsletter for Germany

Dear Meeting Planer,

the FIFA World Cup 2006™ has been successfully concluded while the World Equestrian games are currently taking place in Aachen. Conference and meetings formats with new elements and meetings locations were identified as a future trend at a recent GCB / HSMA MICE Day in the Intercontinental Hotel Frankfurt am Main.

Many of these new forms include sport at two levels – firstly, meetings and presentations organised around major sporting events such as League and Championship football games, Formula One motor racing and ski jumping for example and secondly, meetings and conferences taking place in non-traditional venues such as large football stadiums, Alpine log cabins and tall-sailing ships.

Sports are being increasingly included not only in the meetings sector but also in incentive travel activity programmes– from VIP receptions at fast-moving ice-hockey games to prominent sports stars presenting motivating corporate seminars and moderating association panel discussions.

Germany has the expertise, contacts, facilities, locations, venues, contexts and atmosphere for such new forms of meetings and incentive travel programmes - where and when required.
