Meetings Newsletter für Deutschland

Dear Meeting Planner,

2007 has got off to an excellent start with Germany becoming Handball World Champions. And things are moving rapidly. End-April at Hockenheim ‘Race Week’ for example, will see  more than 600 vintage motor racing cars put to the test at the Jim Clark Revival on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of this world-renowned motor racing circuit. It will be the largest classical event of its kind held in Europe this year. The German international MICE branch also views Germany as an ideal racecourse for quality congresses and events - without speed limits.

Germany is also pressing hard upon the fuel pedal in other fields. 2007 has been titled year of ‘Economy and Science’ and Germany’s EU presidency, which runs for the first six months of the year, is focussing very much on the whole question of climate protection – in the political domain and in numerous congresses being held on the issue. The G8 summit of the world’s leading economic nations also takes place in May in the Baltic seaside spa resort of Heiligendamm. The world’s third largest economy will be presented with an excellent opportunity to prove just how professional and competent it is as a conference host nation.

The GCB and its teams of experts are available at professional pit-stops from Flensburg in the north to Freiburg in the south. Braunschweig or Brunswick, ‘City of Science 2007’, is an apt example of the world-class hospitality, service and international meetings standards that meeting planners may avail of throughout Germany in 2007.

We wish you an enjoyable and informative read,

Your, GCBTeam
