City of many contrasts…
Frankfurt is a city of many contrasts: a city of many traditions and cultures, a city of finance and trade. It is world famous for large international trade fairs such as the IAA International Automobile Exhibition and the International Book Fair. Frankfurt’s International Airport, Central Railway Station and numerous Autobahn intersections testify to Frankfurt’s importance as a major European transport node.
Annual events such as the Opel Ironman Germany Triathlon, the Museumsuferfest and Sound of Frankfurt are not only major attractions but also part and parcel of the city’s unique charm.
A closer look reveals a city of many attractions: foremost among these being the picturesque buildings of the beautifully restored Roemerberg, the Gothic Cathedral, Goethe’s birthhouse, the Paulskirche – birthplace of German democracy, the Museum Mile along the banks of the River Main, over 100 other museums and galleries, traditional cider pubs and beer gardens in Sachsenhausen, elegant shops along the Goethestrasse, open-air restaurants along the Fressgasse and truly vibrant and world-class opera, jazz and arts scenes.
Frankfurt’s Velotaxis are an option for unusual transfers within the city area. These operate in the summer months from May till end-September and are also available for corporate promotions, trade fairs and events (see: http://www.0700velotaxi.de/).
Franklfurt’s surrounding region – the Taunus mountains, the Rhine and Main valleys, the Wetterau and the Odenwald offer plenty of landscape variety and lots of interesting opportunities for enjoyable excursions and unusual locations for all kinds of MICE programmes.
Meeting, sleeping and exhibiting under one roof
