Big events are always a special challenge for a city's convention bureau. Often all hotels are fully booked during such events. Cologne is now preparing for upcoming major events like the World Youth Day 2005 and the Soccer World Cup in 2006 with a new hotel alliance. Now guests and visitors of Cologne can book hotel rooms in the region via the website www.koelntourismus.de. After the co-operation between KoelnTourismus GmbH and Rhein-Erft Tourismus e.V. last December, the website now enables you to book member hotels of RheinBerg Tourismus e.V., including not just the big chains but also small, privately run hotels. This is particularly interesting for those who want to spend the night in the Cologne area but haven't decided on an exact location yet. Offerings are always up-to-date, as the hotels and B&Bs enter their capacities and prices directly into the system. For big international events hotel bookings can be made both in German and English.

Leipzig for Meeting Planners

To support all meeting planners Leipzig has published a new CD-ROM. The Leipzig Location Guide describes around 80 special venues in and around Leipzig with all the necessary details. From the Old Stock Exchange to Leipzig Zoo, it lists all the important and interesting venues.
