Meeting Newsletter for Germany
The Hamburg business magazine ‘Brand eins’ (Brand one) carried the lead title ‘Don’t panic! This is not the end once again’. And the ‘Brand eins’ editorial team are most correct in their assumption. It is high time to free our minds from the hysteria on the international financial markets, high time to view the future realistically!
Needless to say, the coming months will not necessarily be an easy ride for the MICE business. The Deutsche Bank’s own chief economist echoed similar sentiments to the ‘Brand eins’ editors only a couple of days ago. Addressing 300 members of the VDR (German Travel Management Federation), Dr. Norbert Walter stated that times would get tougher but that there was no occasion for immediate panic. ‘The more we held video conferences the greater was the need for physical presence on the part of our clients’. And the same applies as much to meetings and conferences as to congresses and events.
So please don’t panic.
