Deutsche Lufthansa AG General Assembly at ICC Berlin

Deutsche Lufthansa AG will hold its next orderly annual general assembly from 18th April 2007 in the ICC Berlin. More than 5,000 shareholders, shareholders’ representatives and journalists are expected to attend. The Deutsche Lufthansa AG General Assembly is returning to Berlin for the first time since 1995.

Successful outlook for Congress Center Düsseldorf – three large congresses confirmed for 2009

The CCD. Congress Center Düsseldorf can look to the future with optimism. Not only is current congress business profitable and going well – the future is also looking good since a considerable number of significant dates are already fully booked for future events. Three important large congresses have been confirmed for 2009 alone:

The Annual Conference of the German Diabetes Society takes place from 20th to 23rd May 2009. Over 7,000 participants are expected.

The CCD has also been confirmed as venue for the International Congress for Photobiology in June 2009 with 1,500 participants.

Some 3,800 participants are expected in September of the same year at the ECTRIMS Congress for Research into Multiple Sklerosis.

CCD. Congress Center Düsseldorf Managing Director Hilmar Guckert explains why CCD has been so successful with their long-term congress planning and bookings:

‘Firstly we benefit from Düsseldorf’s location advantages as one of the most important research and economic centres in Germany. The CCD also has an optimal location within the city of Düsseldorf itself. Direct access to the fairgrounds provides us with superb infrastructure, which presents wonderful opportunities for large congresses, by use of fair halls for accompanying exhibitions for example.’

An important aspect of CCD’s success is, according to Hilmar Guckert, close co-operation between CCD and the scientific community:

‘We maintain an office in the Heinrich Heine University enabling direct contact with and access to professors. The 2009 congresses are a direct result of this fruitful co-operation.’

Allied to this is the long-term planning security offered to meeting planners and events organisers by CCD:
