America’s spirit of Christmas makes its debut in Germany
Broadway’s Spirit of Christmas – now the most popular Christmas show in the USA – will now at last make its debut in Germany. Excellent dancers, singers and Santa Claus himself will take the audience on an unforgettable winter journey and put them in the mood for the holiday season. From 19 to 31 December at Musical Theatre Bremen.
In a magical landscape under a starry sky the most beautiful and acrobatic show girls on this side of the Atlantic will present world-famous Christmas hits like White Christmas, Silent Night, Joy to the World, Jingle Bells and many other classics. Especially for the German audience this Broadway show will also feature German carols like Oh Tannenbaum and Ihr Kinderlein kommet.
You can experience typical American Christmas magic with colourful candy sticks, sweet angels, cuddly animals, fiery singers, sensational Broadway dancers in colourful costumes and lots of Christmassy entertainment for all the family.
Bremen’s Tourist Board (BTZ) offers a Christmas package for the show: one overnight stay with breakfast, one ticket for Spirit of Christmas (PK 2), Bremen Gourmet Meal and further surprises from 114 euros per person in a double room.

Winter edition of BTM’s popular Berlin Calendar out now!
“Ish bin ein Bearleener“ – with these words US President John F. Kennedy sent a wave of enthusiasm through 300,000 Berliners who had gathered at the Schöneberg town hall in June 1963. Now, 43 years later, Berlin’s Kennedy Museum will open in early November (11.11.06). In addition to the history of this dynasty is will feature personal and important objects that once belonged to the Kennedys, famous photographs, important documents, books and films.
This highlight and other exciting events on the capital’s agenda from November to early January are featured in the recently published Berlin Calendar. This popular bilingual (G/E) publication of Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (BTM) shows all major events at a glance and presents a selection of smaller interesting events of all kinds. With many illustrations, an emphasis on specially recommended events, well-structured design and lots of information, the brochure will really help you find your way around.
The latest Berlin Calendar is a very festive special edition with a larger number of pages, longer term (until 06.01.2007) and higher print run: On 50 pages it showcases Berlin’s magical Christmas season.
The Winter World at Potsdamer Platz, Roncalli’s Christmas Circus, horse-drawn carriage rides through the historical city centre, the variety theatre at Friedrichstadtpalast and the big New Year’s Eve party at Brandenburg Gate are just a few of the cultural highlights of the winter metropolis for the cold season and the Winter Magic Berlin campaign. Ice Age meets Ice World
Movie stars of real snow and ice
This year’s Ice World in Lübeck was freezing cold but lots of fun. Right in time for the DVD release of their second adventure Ice Age 2, the popular ICE AGE figures carved out of real snow and ice are set to conquer the 4th International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival from 08 December to 28 January. Ice World has relocated to the Music and Congress Centre on the banks of the Trave. After visiting Ice World you can warm up in the cosy winter village with hot punch, hot chocolate and delicious food. The ice rink and children’s ice rink sponsored by the Edith Fröhnert Foundation offers young and old skaters a merry slide. A 45-metre toboggan run will be inaugurated and round off the winter fun on the banks of the Trave.
