Meetings Newsletter for Germany

Dear Meeting Planner,

A sporting summer concluded with a German victory in the Men’s Hockey World Cup in Monchengladbach. A relaxing and enjoyable ‘Indian Summer’ has already kicked off with misty mornings, blue skies, rusting leaves, wine harvests, farmers’ markets and the world renowned Oktoberfest, which runs until October 3rd – Germany’s National Holiday and Day of German Unity. The Munich Oktoberfest is, by the way, the world’s largest folk festival with a total expected attendance this year of over six million visitors.

Further north, Germany’s oldest folk festival, the Bremer Freimarkt or ‘Freimaak’ takes place for the 971st time from 13th to 29th October 2006 in Bremen. Living traditions from Bremen to Munich - offering plenty of excellent opportunities for companies and associations to come together, meet, engage and discuss or simply just move among the locals or get actively involved.

On a completely different issue: the importance of electronic meeting planning is growing daily. The German Convention Bureau would like to know which tools you yourself use and how you rate these. We would be most grateful if you could take a minute out to answer the following questions.

We will draw ten names from all responses. The luck ten will each receive a GCB Knirps umbrella as a small token of our appreciation.

We wish you lots of new insights and an enjoyable read!

With kind regards,

Your GCB Team
