Bremen’s First Design Hotel ‚UeberFluss’ Opens for Business

The new ‘UeberFluss’ (over the river) 4-star design hotel is located on Bremen’s Weserpromenade. It successfully combines elements of new and old with a welcoming and very unusual ambience.

And hidden extras await the hotel’s guests at every level – whether in the 51 rooms, fitness and wellness areas or in the hotel’s generous restaurant – which forms a single entity with the hotel bar and lounge. Parts of Bremen’s medieval skirting wall, - discovered during the course of construction - have, for example, been incorporated into the sauna area. The swimming pool can be literally plunged into a variety of colours at the flick of a switch thanks to specially installed LED lamps.

The hotel’s highlights, however, are to be discovered on the sixth floor. The ‘Top of UeberFluss’ meetings and events room has space for up to 50 persons. It offers charming panoramic views of the River Weser through a large glass floor window which extends over the entire length of the room.  The ‘On top Bar’ is located some 25 metres over the River Weser itself – a wonderful and most relaxing experience at to end any day. Both rooms also have roof-top terraces.

MARITIM Cornerstone Ceremony at Duesseldorf Airport

The cornerstone ceremony for the Maritim Hotel Duesseldorf, the first Maritim hotel in the capital of North-Rhine Westphalia, took place on the 19th of January 2006 on the Airport City grounds at Düsseldorf Airport.

The hotel, which will open in November 2007, will comprise 533 rooms including 30 suites and one presidential suite. The Maritim group-owned engineering office Reinhardt und Sander Gesellschaft mbH Planung und Baubetreuung is responsible for the architecture and the interior design. 6.500 m³ reinforcing steel and 42.000 m³ concrete will be used in building over the next months to erect the largest congress hotel in North-Rhine Westphalia with capacities for up to 5,045 people. The construction of the weather-proof shell will be taken on by the Koester AG Osnabrueck.

With this project Maritim once more counts on its successful concept of “accommodation and conference facilities under one roof”. The largest hall – constructed like an auditorium including stage and gallery – will host up to 2,450 people and will be provided with the latest conference and meeting equipment. Extensive gaps in the facade will allow the daylight to flood the room. The small hall for about 1,000 people offers an exhibition space and a gallery either. Both halls are linked with a foyer – 980 m²  and 385 m². The hotel offers extra capacities for about 1,600 people in 21 conference rooms and meeting suites for events from 20 to 400 people.

The gastronomic concept includes a hotel restaurant (550 seats), a bistro (220 seats), a beer tavern (120 seats) and a bar (120 seats). The business-level on the sixth floor is equipped with an exclusive VIP lounge. The wellness area, including fitness room, sauna and pool, allows for moments of perfect relaxation.

Besides having direct access to the hotel from the airport terminal, guests will be able to drive up to the main entrance or enter the building through a passage connecting the hotel with the Airport City, where about 250.000 m² of office space, together with broad parking and green areas, will be built. The hotel will be within easy reach via motorway, by plane or train. Location and accessibility of the new Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf will help to attract meetings with participants from Germany, Europe and all over the world.

A New Service in the Radisson SAS Hotel Berlin – First Berlin Hotel with IT Concierge

Guests at Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts have enjoyed free internet access since 1st September 2005. A new service has been introduced in 2006 within the context of chain’s E@syConnect service concept: specially trained employees – IT Concierges - are available to advise guests on all questions relating to Internet access. And this on a daily basis from 7am in the morning to 10pm in the evening. Ten of the Radisson SAS Hotel Berlin’s 230 staff have already qualified as IT Concierges – they are now available to assist guests with Emails, internet problems, beamer presentations, printer and screen difficulties.

The Radisson SAS Hotel Berlin was opened in March 2004 and offers its guests 5-star service and a superb location in the centre of Berlin.

Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz – Hotel with a Capital View
